Vice President Dick Cheney’s defibrillator Wifi was disabled in 2007 so it couldn’t be remotely attacked.
14 years later, almost every device we have is (or can be) connected - our toothbrushes, vacuum cleaners, window blinds, Siri, Google, the fridge, etc. Companies have more smart devices in and on their networks than they realize, yet the criminal appetite hasn’t decreased therefore the potential for adversarial actions against these newer vectors continues to increase.
Securing IOT is the topic of our next Wizer Webinar and we will be talking about:
- How big of a risk is it really?
- Should I personally be worried or is it only a large organization issue?
- Who in the organization is responsible for IoT devices?
- What things should be checked OR what questions asked before buying a smart device?
- How do I secure (or can I secure) existing IOT devices?
- How can I tell if an IOT device is vulnerable?
